The college management and staff, together with the inspectors from the government’s Department for Education and Skills (DfES), ensure that its teaching, facilities and qualifications are of the very highest standards.
As a publicly-funded college, Waltham Forest College has Highly Trusted Sponsor status. The English as a Foreign Language (EFL) department of the college is accredited by the British Council’s Accreditation UK scheme. It was awarded points of excellence for teaching and teachers’ qualifications in the November 2009 inspection.
As part of the new UKBA guidelines, all Waltham Forest College learners on Tier 4 visas will be able to work
- a minimum of ten hours per week
- full-time during vacation.
Waltham Forest College was founded in 1938. It is situated in Walthamstow, an attractive residential area in north-east London within easy reach of central London by Underground.
